The SeaQ line of watches has marked the debut of the Spezialist collection of Glashütte Original: a sporty edge to the Saxon manufacture that many have been missing in recent years.
The Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date is the more generously proportioned version of SeaQ, with case dimensions of 43mm across and 15mm in thickness. As every fan of the brand would expect, it isn’t all show and no go, either. The bulky, yet comfortable-wearing case offers 30 bars (300-meter equivalent) water resistance, an impressive capability that Glashütte Original has developed in an all-new in-house testing facility.
Famously fastidious, Glashütte Original tests the SeaQ Panorama Date to depths 25% beyond its rated water resistance, looks for the absence of condensation when taking the watch from extreme heat to extreme cold environments and even performs control procedures that check the performance of the seals on a molecular level.
With its in-house dial manufactory in the historic jewelry-making town of Pforzheim, the designers of the SeaQ could rely on the expertise of this proprietary team to pack precious materials and seldom-seen levels of refinement into this safeguarded capsule. Powered by the exquisitely detailed Glashütte Original Caliber 36.13, the SeaQ Panorama Date offers an impressively durable 100 hours of power reserve matched to a modern and stable 4 Hertz operating frequency.
German watchmaking in a spectacular package ready for action: the SeaQ Panorama Date now in bi-color red gold and steel, as well as in solid 18kt red gold.
