This has been in the making for over a decade to create this accurate and precise olfactory experience. A fragrance for movement
The fragrance, the Phantom Scent, is created by the Rolls-Royce perfumer, a part of the Bespoke Collective, and represents the car itself in its leather, lacquer, thread, and wood. The final fragrance is a mature and sophisticated scent with smoky notes of Amyris, sweet Rosewood, delicate or soft Iris, and spicy Cedarwood that encapsulate the feeling of the Phantom drive and the feel of the craftsmanship of the car.
This is in conjunction with the knowledge of haute perfumery and biochemistry to develop the perfect scent that becomes an aspect of the journey. The technology is integrated into the car’s structure and applies the fragrance constantly at a very low rate, so the scent is constant but not overwhelming, ensuring it lasts and becomes a part of the journey.
Extensive testing was conducted to guarantee a seamless and consistent fragrance experience for Rolls-Royce’s global clientele. This rigorous process involved evaluating the scent in both stationary and dynamic environments, as well as under varying temperature and humidity conditions. Specialists meticulously calibrated the precise dosage for the diffusion system, striking a delicate balance between longevity and subtlety. More than 30 iterations were refined before in-house experts deemed the fragrance worthy of Rolls-Royce’s exacting standards.
