Gritti Palace a Luxury Collection

A palace hotel with a living history. In the 15th-century house of Duke Andrea Gritti, you will still find oil paintings on the walls, heavy key tassels, antiques and Murano glass chandeliers, even in the smallest rooms. Writers, artists, film stars, and socialites like Peggy Guggenheim, namesake of a suite, have always loved this place as do we.

In the open-air Riva Lounge, you can enjoy warm Venetian nights while gondolas cruise the Grand Canal. For tours to the outer islands of the lagoon, we recommend taking one of the hotel's own Riva speedboats in style.

On the island of Giudecca, five minutes by boat from St Mark's Square, is the historic Belmond Hotel Cipriani. The pink hotel is an Italian romance. Its founder, the owner of Harry’s Bar and inventor of the Bellini – which can be enjoyed here in the relaxed outdoor settings of Cip’s Club or the Gabbiano Bar by the largest pool in the centre of Venice – has skilfully chosen classic décor inside and tranquil, romantic gardens outside.

The MICHELIN-starred restaurant Oro, redesigned by star designer Adam D. Tihany, treats your stomach while the place caresses your soul.

The luxurious hotel on the Grand Canal is a successful contrast to the architecture, modern and is individually furnished. It has become famous for exclusive experiences such as an evening at the opera in the Aman private box at La Fenice or a shopping trip to the Rialto market led by the chef himself.

The rooms and suites are spread across the elegant 16th-century palazzo, with original frescoes by Tiepolo, gilded boiseries and magnificent chandeliers, which already convinced Amal and George Clooney, who held their wedding here. We, too, would marry here, live here… you get the idea.

Palazzo Venart

One of the newer luxury hotels in Venice is Palazzo Venart. Built in the 15th century on the Grand Canal, it was considered a meeting place for 18th-century aristocrats, whose parties were depicted in frescoes and restored by craftsmen during the renovation. Precious antiques, gilded mirrors and Rubelli silk curtains reminded us of the golden age.

The gardens are adorned with contemporary art by Venetian Anna Paola Cibin. The GLAM restaurant treated us to interpretations of regional classics prepared by chef Enrico Bartolini, whose Milanese restaurant boasts two MICHELIN stars. A real treat for the palate, not to be missed!

Just over 1 km from the historic Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square, in a 16th-century building, is the home of the opulently furnished Ca' Bonfadini. Gold and pastel tones, curved shapes and fine materials lay the foundation for the individually designed rooms. We enjoyed extended breakfasts here and were pampered in the in-house restaurant.

We also find the large bathrooms and sitting areas with a view of the canal worth mentioning. Not unimportant if you want to relax your feet after a long day in Venice.
