Hublot proves once again why they are the masters in the Art of Fusion: this new Hublot Big Bang Unico Berluti Aluminio chronograph, which was created in collaboration with the Parisian Maison of the same name, combines metal and leather in an unexpected mix of materials and shades of grey.
Some watchmakers have relied on tradition over and over again. Others love to surprise and amaze their customers with continuous innovation. Hublot, since its foundation, belongs to the latter. With this edition of its iconic Big Bang, in a limited edition with the famous fashion house Berluti, Hublot once again upsets and disrupts the everyday with leather that shines like metal, in homage to the Art of Fusion that has made it a unique and irreplaceable presence in horology.
The iconic 44mm Big Bang from the house of Hublot has been customized to showcase the movement under a dial made precisely of Venice coated Berluti leather with an Aluminio finish, on which the hour markers and Swiss Made lettering are embossed. The dial is housed between two thin sapphire glass panes, sealed in a titanium case with a distinctive screw-down bezel made in two parts: a base of polished titanium housing and a covering of 1mm-thick leather.
This symphony of metallic tones is repeated throughout the timepiece, employing satin-finished rhodium in the hands and tungsten in the oscillating weight. The leather obviously takes centre stage in the strap with a deployment clasp that offers a soft touch and subtly iridescent appearance to the hundred lucky people who will be able to secure one of the watches in this limited edition.
The Hublot Big Bang Unico Berluti Aluminio is equipped with the manufacture Unico movement, a highly technical and fascinating flyback chronograph calibre, beating at 4 Hz and offering a power reserve of 72 hours. The fashion house offers the Big Bang Unico Berluti Aluminio in a special gift box that comes with a travel case and a Berluti shoehorn key ring.
