IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41

Check out the new IWC Pilot’s Watch – now in a smaller size and with an in-house movement.

The colour blue has been cherished and imitated since the ancient Egyptians – they were the first to invent a synthetic blue pigment by mixing silica, lime, copper and alkali – and even today it remains the most popular colour in America and Europe according to polls. It’s no wonder then that blue has been a highly represented colour in watchmaking – and just a glance at the new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 is enough to understand why.

A blue dial with white, high-contrast markings and large hands is a recipe for success – and one that won’t ever go out of style.

While the dial colour may be à la mode, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 is actually an early one in the awakening trend of smaller, more compact and – generally speaking – more comfortable-to-wear renditions of iconic watches. The IWC Pilot’s Watch is indeed a much loved and globally recognized design that looks great in all sorts of colours and sizes. That said, while the IWC “Big Pilot” has a confident charm of its own, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 tones things down as far as the case size is concerned and places that popular dial into focus.

A more compact, 41-millimetre case diameter shows a new, albeit deeply likeable face of the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph.

With a slim, polished bezel and gently curved case profile, it really is that expansive blue dial and its high-contrast elements that attract attention. Large numerals and minute markers along the periphery highlight the purposeful nature of every IWC Pilot’s Watch, while the touch of red and the sans serif typeface of all but the IWC name add a bit of playfulness. Powered by the in-house made IWC caliber 69385 – displayed by a sapphire crystal case back –, and easily matched to a variety of straps through a quick strap change system, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 is a solid all-rounder offering in its segment.

The price of the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 is $7.200. You can find more information at iwc.com.
