EXPERIENCE THE GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL SEVENTIES CHRONOGRAPH PANORAMA DATE LE

Looking at the new Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date, some of the older readers will recall with some nostalgia the exploits of a white-clad Tony Manero in the discotheques of the 1970s, bursting with the lights and colours of an optimistic generation reaching out toward the future.

Two bright and vibrant colours – Disco Blue and Vibing Orange – are revived today, after fifty years, in this particular series of the Seventies collection, as a model that has become an icon of the German manufacturer's production: the Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date.

Vintage charm in a modern watch

Glashütte Original has never forgotten its roots and, more importantly, the history and design that have made it one of the benchmark brands in the world of watchmaking – and this line, the Seventies series, has always been a flagship for the Saxon house. The gently rounded lines of these timepieces, in their balanced size of 40×40 mm, echo the style of the era, which experimented with new shapes and solutions to seek the watch of the future. Watch enthusiasts will also definitely spot elements inspired by Genta, Colani and Tallon.

The dial, covered in Sky Blue or Salmon Orange matte lacquer, reveals an innovative tricompax display for the chronometer function, which is complemented by a power reserve display and large date window at six o'clock, one of the characteristic signatures of Glashütte Original production. The applied hour markers are rhodium-plated with SuperLuminova inserts, as are the dauphine hands.

This oh-so-fascinating timepiece mounts the proprietary automatic 37-02 column-wheel calibre that makes a fine display through the visible case back. Its technical perfection is matched by its elegant and discreet finishing, revealing it as a work of great horological refinement.

The central rotor, finished in gold and Glashütte Stripes, displays the company's logo, and the same treatment is reserved for the movement bridges. This exceptional timepiece offers a power reserve of an impressive 70 hours and beats at 4 Hz for absolute precision.

Two strap versions for all uses

The caliber 37-02 highlighted by the sapphire crystal case back reveals all this timepiece's technical and artistic finesse.

This chronograph is made to amaze: despite its large glass surfaces, it offers a water resistance of an impressive 100 meters and is available in two versions: the first, a more sporty style, with a black rubber strap; the second, more elegant, with a matching steel bracelet with micro-adjustment.

The Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date LE is produced in a limited series of only 100 pieces per colour and is available at official Glashütte Original boutiques and authorized retailers.

The official price has not been announced, but the traditional versions of this timepiece are available for around 15,000 euros, depending on the type of strap chosen.
