Glashütte Original designed and engineered the Glashuette Original Senator Cosmopolite in response to the challenges of working and traveling in a globalised world.

Designed to assist even the busiest of globetrotters, the Senator Cosmopolite is an easy-to-use, all-encompassing worldtimer.

While watches equipped with a so-called GMT complication allow for the tracking of a secondary time zone, or Worldtimer watches offer a very complex, albeit not quite so user-friendly way of telling the time around the world, the Senator Cosmopolite offers a bespoke, beautifully engineered and intuitive system that is a joy to use even after the most trying red-eye intercontinental flights.

Flanking the eight o’clock index are two apertures displaying three-letter codes. These are IATA airport codes, ones every world-traveller will be familiar with, having seen them on countless boarding passes and airport signs. These are the three-letter codes linked to every major airport in the world — LAX, FRA and JFK are but a few.

Using its in-house engineering and watchmaking know-how, Glashütte Original has created a uniquely capable travel-watch with its Senator Cosmopolite.

The Senator Cosmopolite has thirty-five of these, linked to every major and minor timezone in the world, including those with a 30- or 45-minute discrepancy. In practice, this allows the wearer of the Senator Cosmopolite to quickly and conveniently change the time indication on their watch to any timezone they may have travelled to, without having to do cumbersome calculations destined to cause trouble for the sleep-deprived globetrotter.

The beautifully shaped main hands indicate local time, i.e. time at the travel destination, while the smaller hands over the twelve o’clock sub-dial indicate “Home Time” — allowing for an at-a-glance reading of the time back where the family and colleagues are. An AM/PM indicator is available for both indications, leaving no room for confusion.

Beautifully crafted and now available in Midnight Blue, the Glashütte Original Senator Cosmopolite Midnight Blue has all it takes to be a business traveller’s favourite tool.
