Aston Martin Valour – Celebrating the Century

A symbol of luxury and heritage, Aston Martin prepares to mark its 110th anniversary with the release of Valour, a spectacular, ultra-exclusive V12-engined, manual transmission special edition vehicle. Production will be limited to 110 units worldwide, a nod to the brand’s history, with each unit epitomising the uncompromised aesthetics, performance, and driving experiences that Aston Martin is renowned for.

Valour’s design is deeply rooted in Aston Martin’s history, drawing inspiration from the legendary V8 Vantage of the 1970s and 1980s and the renowned ‘Muncher’ Le Mans racer. These iconic features are fused with contemporary design elements and state-of-the-art technology to create a fusion of past and present that epitomises the brand’s evolution over its 110-year history.

The powerful 715PS/753Nm twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 engine is combined with a bespoke six-speed manual transmission, offering an exhilarating and immersive driving experience. This makes Valour the only front-engined V12 sports car with manual transmission.

“Valour is a celebration of Aston Martin’s passion for driving and extraordinary heritage, but it is also emblematic of today’s vibrant and revitalised brand. A modern icon that fuses classic character with contemporary execution, Valour captures the essence of excitement and exclusivity that defines this storied automotive marque. A showcase for our world-class design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities, Valour is further proof of Aston Martin’s position as the driver’s champion and maker of the world’s most exciting, exclusive and desirable ultra-luxury high-performance cars”. Commented Aston Martin Executive Chairman, Lawrence Stroll.

Meticulous attention to detail has been given to Valour’s design, with each component carefully chosen and crafted to offer maximum driver engagement. The car is equipped with a mechanical limited-slip differential to provide the driver with direct control, and its driving modes – Sport, Sport+, and Track – offer fine-tuned throttle response, torque management, and sound character.

The exterior design embodies the fierce performance capabilities of Aston Martin Valour. It features an evolved version of Aston Martin’s iconic grille shape, larger intakes to cool the powerful V12 engine, and a set of eye-catching 21” lightweight forged alloy ‘Honeycomb’ wheels.

Valour’s interior also showcases Aston Martin’s masterful use of materials, with options for a gear knob made from aluminium, titanium, carbon fibre or walnut, and seating covered in traditional woollen tweed. This classic approach contrasts beautifully with the high-tech weave of carbon fibre used in the car’s lightweight performance seats, bespoke door cards, fascia air vents, upper centre console, and transmission tunnel.

For customers wishing to personalise their vehicle further, Aston Martin’s Q service offers an array of additional customisation options. These include a one-off livery, fully exposed 2×2 twill carbon fibre bodywork with a choice of tint, painted wheels, Mokume carbon fibre interior detailing, or a choice of luxurious tweed and cashmere fabrics for the seats and headlining.

Miles Nurnberger, Aston Martin’s Director of Design, said: “At Aston Martin, our design is always progressive, but when it comes to celebrating a significant milestone – in this instance, our 110th birthday – we allow ourselves a little latitude. Consequently, Valour is gloriously unapologetic; an old-school brute refined and reimagined through the lens of 2023. Making a return to a chiselled shape, moving away from the more sculptural forms that define current series production Aston Martin’s, with bold details and modern materials rooted in the present. We were keen to ensure its looks reflect the driving experience”.

Aston Martin is set to begin production of Valour at its Gaydon Headquarters in Q3 of 2023, with first deliveries scheduled for Q4 2023. With its unparalleled blend of history, heritage, and modernity, the Aston Martin Valour is set to become one of the most coveted vehicles in Aston Martin’s illustrious line of iconic front-engined sports cars. The price for this supremely exclusive special edition has yet to be disclosed, but it's clear that collectors globally are set to be swept up in the excitement.
