The purity of gold. Since ancient times, the material that represents excellence now returns to the forefront in OMEGA's new Seamaster Aqua Terra, dedicated to celebrating the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
It is presented by the most successful athlete of all time, winner of 23 Olympic gold medals: Michael Phelps. The perfect testimonial to embody this combination of technique and passion that leads to the results that matter.
“Being an Olympic athlete is a job you have to do 24/7, all day long”, says Phelps. Excellence has always been OMEGA’s goal, which is the Official Timekeeper of the Olympics for the 29th time, an event it wanted to celebrate with this precious and meaningful timepiece.
This OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra is fitted with a Master Chronometer-certified 8901 movement of absolute precision, regulated by the coaxial escapement typical of the Maison's production, concealed beneath a ceramic dial with applied indexes and logo, laser-decorated with a pattern in contrasting shades of blue reminiscent of the Tokyo Olympics logo.
The calibre itself, however, is clearly visible through the sapphire crystal case back decorated with Olympic symbols, ready to reveal its technical and aesthetic qualities, such as the double barrel that ensures even winding and the rotor that contrasts with the movement.
The OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra Tokyo 2020 is available in two versions, 38 mm and 41 mm, features a blue leather wristband and matching buckle and is presented in a special commemorative box.
The ladies' model is priced at 17,400€ and the men's model at 18,100€. The watches will be available from the end of July 2021 on omegawatches.com.
