The new Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer 2023
OMEGA, renowned for its precision and innovative timepieces, has recently unveiled three new models of its much-acclaimed OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer. This collection has been a favourite among global travellers and watches aficionados alike, known for its unique ability to track every time zone on the planet.
The Worldtimer series is now more versatile than ever, with the addition of a titanium model and two stainless-steel variants. All models boast a unique Worldtimer display, scratch-resistant ceramic bezels, and an artistic vision of Earth at the dial's centre.
A distinctive feature of these timepieces is the Worldtimer display, a work of art crafted using laser ablation. OMEGA has meticulously produced an image of Earth, viewed from the North Pole, by carefully etching continents and colours on a grade 5 titanium surface. This domed watch-scape mimics Earth's curvature, a detail that, while invisible to the naked eye, adds to the watch's intricate appeal.
Encircling the topographic map is a 24-hour indicator under hesalite glass, segmented into night and day. The dial showcases a myriad of global destinations, including OMEGA's home city of BIENNE, Switzerland. On the stainless-steel models, all place names are in yellow gold, except for LONDON, highlighted in red, signifying the Greenwich Mean Time (UTC).
OMEGA's President and CEO, Mr. Raynald Aeschlimann, is particularly proud of these new additions, stating, “At OMEGA, we take pride in our pioneering spirit and these watches are like a call to action. Go for it! Step out into the world! The dials are works of art, which prompt a sense of awe and adventure. What’s more, there is top-level technology working behind those amazing displays. They’re beautiful, fun to wear and operate and true collectables.”
The titanium model exudes a bold and sporty aesthetic, offering a lightweight yet corrosion-resistant option. The 43 mm OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer dial in black and grey hues is entirely laser-produced, creating a unique texture and depth. The dial also boasts a brushed black ceramic bezel and blackened hands and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova for a radiant blue glow in the dark. The watch is finished with an integrated black rubber strap with grey stitching, enhancing its sporty appeal.
For those who prefer a classic look, OMEGA offers two stainless-steel options. One features a matching stainless-steel bracelet and butterfly clasp, while the other includes an integrated green rubber strap with grey stitching. Both 43 mm models have a sun-brushed PVD dial in green, encircled by a polished-brushed green ceramic bezel. The dial is adorned with hands and indexes in 18K Moonshine™ Gold, adding a touch of elegance to these timepieces.
Powering the new OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer models is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8938. This advanced movement has met the stringent precision standards of the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). Further, enhancing their versatility, each timepiece offers a water resistance of 15 bar (150 m / 500 ft), making them suitable for a variety of environments.
With these three new models, OMEGA continues to strengthen its reputation as a leader in horological innovation. The OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer series is an exemplary fusion of technology, artistry, and practicality, making it a must-have for global travellers and watch enthusiasts alike.
